Spring Designer Show House

The Dayton Society of Interior Designers and The Woman’s Club of Dayton Foundation have polished to perfection “The Crown Jewel of the Gem City”. The historic house located at 225 North Ludlow Street has been restored, renewed, revitalized and is a Victorian Designer Show House. The house, built in the 1840’s by Daytonian Robert Steele, survived the Civil War and the 1913 Dayton Flood. It has been the home of The Dayton Woman’s Club since 1916.

A Gala Preview Event was held on Friday, May 9, 2008. The house was open to the public for tours from Saturday, May 10 through May 24th. from 11am-5pm daily. Special features during the two week Show House included docent tours, programs held daily on a variety of interesting and entertaining topics, lunch was available from 11:30-2pm daily, and the “Crown Raffle” which includes a $1,000 gift certificate to Jaffe Jewelers, an overnight Spa Package for 2 from French Lick Resort, and a Dayton Memorabilia & Events package which includes a ride on the Wright B Flyer, Hawthorn Hill, Carillon Park & Dragons tickets and much more. The winners were announced on May 24th.

The house provides a beautiful and gracious setting for wedding receptions and a variety of other events. Additionally, it is available for business meeting, seminars, and networking events. Call 228-1124 to for more information and/or to schedule your event.
